Nightmare...
So I haven't had WiFi for like, a week. This is the worst thing that can happen to any 26-year-old.
I've had a lot of problems with my service provider and once you have a problem, it unearths more problems. Hopefully, it'll be resolved by the 12th of October. The main problem is it greatly affects my ability to conduct research for my book. I can do some snippets here and there, but I'm limited to what I can achieve.
Sad.
Anyway, I'm going to make the most of some free WiFi for the minute and get back to doing some research.
See you on the flipside.
As always, with Love,
J

What a day!
I'm currently sitting in blinding sunshine, on the wrong side of a window in Starbucks, Bournemouth... The café I was in previously, wouldn't let me charge my laptop...So I've had to move!
I have around 60 blog post views! No comments yet, but I really welcome them, even if it's just a hello. I'd love to start chatting to the people who read my posts.
I've started chapter two - which is pretty much my secondary character's introduction. Her name is Nell and she's a student. She's also a medium - but she doesn't know this yet. Nell has some interesting traits that'll explore further when I'm developing her. I still don't even know what she's going to look like. I'll wait for that to come to me naturally though.
I was out shopping today - shopping really spurs my creative process and I find that If I buy something, small and inexpensive it creates some kind of chemical reaction in my brain and makes me really happy/excited. So as soon as I was finished buying soapy products, I grabbed my new MacBook and headed for the nearest café!
I'll keep you posted on Chapter two. An excerpt of Chapter one is to follow.
Keep on eye on Tumblr and Twitter for an announcement!
In the meantime, follow me on social media and I'll raise my iced latte to your health!
As always, with love,
J

Chapter one - done!
Hi guys,
Thanks for checking out my new blog. At first I was a little annoyed with Blogger. I've had my gmail account for as long as I can remember and EVERYTHING in my life revolves around it. Work, Uni, Amazon etc. For some reason, in 2009 I tried blogging - made one post of around 50 words and then stopped - I don't know why, or what I was trying to blog about, but clearly it wasn't a success!
Anyway - eventually (after a lot of tinkering around) I finally managed to delete that old blog and set up my new one! Which you're now reading :-)
This initial post initially was just going to be an introduction of what to expect and in a way I wanted to create a bit of a mind map so I could manage content effectively. Then something really exciting happened.
I finished chapter one of my first novel!
I know what you're thinking - one chapter - but let me tell you, it means A LOT if you're a writer.
Writing's always been something that I've loved, be it reading what other people have written, listening to what other people have written or watching a play. Words are just something that I've always loved. Explains why I became an English Teacher. Writing, however, has always been such a challenge for me. It's almost as if I just didn't know what to say or how to say it.
I had tried, many years ago, to write a novel and I got about two pages in and just couldn't. It was so frustrating and I just didn't know what I was doing.
After taking a break (and buying a mac), I decided to give it another go. That was about 2 days ago. So after a landslide of coffee and late nights, thinking, scribbling, and a hell of a lot of procrastinating, the finished result was 8 pages and 3000 words.
I'm using both Pages and Word to type it, I love how clean Pages is, but Word just has so many features that make me feel really engrossed in the process. I've attached a cover page that I created with word and It makes it look like an actual book! That's what's really helped me stay focussed on this. Maybe one day, I'll have my own book. Who knows. It's the ultimate dream!
Anyway - feel free to get in touch with me and ask me any questions. You can find me on
